I'm Afraid People Would Rather Trust Fortune Tellers Than God During This COVID-19 Crisis

I remembered how a Feng Shui master ended up predicting it wrong when he said that 2020 will be a prosperous year. It was a prosperous year only for the COVID-19 disease but not for people. Now, I even read that the Year of the Metal Rat always had a disaster in China for every 60 years. Some of these disasters historically recorded are the First Opium War, Boxer Rebellion, Great Chinese Famine, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Some Feng Shui masters predicted the disaster but should we trust them? My answer is no because God has given His warning that there are times he allows false prophets to predict something real. Remember Balaam uttered the words that a star out of Jacob will arise and Caiaphas prophesied that Jesus will die for the nation. Deuteronomy 13:1-2 says that there will be a time when God will allow false prophets to utter the truth to test the people.

I think there are reasons why God allows fortune-tellers of any kind to get the truth at times. In the case of Balaam, it was judgment for him as a false prophet for false profit. In the case of Caiaphas, it was also his condemnation. I think God is allowing Feng Shui masters to sometimes get a prediction right to test the people. There are times a Feng Shui master may predict a lottery winning number right to test the people's resolve. Sometimes, a wish or a prediction made in a Taoist temple using divination blocks can come true. It's not because it's of God but rather God has allowed it to see if people will still follow Him. God has instructed people that just because a false prophet got it right that he can be trusted. A broken clock can get the time right at times but it's not a reliable clock.

So why are people still relying on fortune-tellers? They want that sense of security of what could happen. How often is it that I've committed the sin of wishing I'd know the future? People have that sin too which is why fortune-telling of any kind is very popular. The COVID-19 epidemic is spreading that fast that people would want to know when it'll end than trust God to when it'll end. It's because God has a good reason to refuse to give the date of when. Acts 1:8 says that it's not for us to know the times and the dates. Yet, people in their wickedness have very limited patience which causes them in turn to turn to fortune-tellers. 

The New Year is coming (and Chinese New Year is also coming) which means false prophets are going to get more false profit. It's because their profits are not gained by honest, hard work but through con jobs. I think Feng Shui masters stating that they predicted another disaster are simply in for the money. It's no surprise that Nostradamus' writings are so popular even after the false prophet is now in Hell. It's because people would want some degree of control rather than let God be in control.
