Why I Think So Many People Get Involved in the Sin of Divination

It's very common to have different forms of divination isn't it? I remembered how the ancient form of Chinese witchcraft known as Feng Shui is gaining popularity. Unsaved people tell me that if I don't believe in Feng Shui then I'm left behind. I'm sorry to say but popularity will never make a wrong right. If two wrongs don't make a right then neither does popularity. If you want to go with the flow then think of all the unsaved people that literally went with the flow when Noah and his family entered the ark. Today, many people who go with the flow will end up going with the flow of God's fiery wrath on Judgment Day. 

So why do so many people get involved into the sin of divination? Here's a key verse that would help us understand:

1 John 2:16 - For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

I remembered the time I wanted to get into witchcraft because it'll supposedly make things easier for me, I can have my revenge on people I hate and my wish to become popular. If you take a look at the reasons why I wanted to get into witchcraft you can see they hit all three areas of sin. When I want revenge it's the pride of life. When I want to make things easier it's because it feeds the flesh's lustful desires and the pride of life. When I wanted to be popular it's the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. Sinful people today who are involved into witchcraft are no different.

Many of these useless charms promise health, wealth and prosperity. Certain witchcraft rituals are even meant to prevent people from encountering trials in life which they call as "bad luck". Some of these demonic rituals using charms and rituals are even meant to supposedly get rid or avoid the pains of life like sickness, weaker financial times and the trials of life. This is in complete violation to the fact that God allows sickness, weaker financial times and the trials of life in the believer not only as a result of His chastisement (done out of love) but also to prevent believers from sinning. Sometimes, God may even strike somebody sick, with less money and other trials just to prevent them from doing what's going to damage them more in the long run. 

Only the astrologer may get rich while getting people poor from such a devilish con job. A good example is how marriages built on the sin of divination may be one good reason why divorce is getting rampant. They marry not out of love but out of superstitious beliefs. Any marriage that relies on superstition than values like loving and submitting to each other in marriage fails. Any partnership with a faulty business partner isn't going to succeed even if the diviners says it would be good for business. It's observable how astrologers often make so much money from their scam jobs. Many of their predictions may be a result of a lying spirit (which God will sometimes allow them to tell the truth like Balaam prophesying the Messiah's coming), the force of gravity or coincidence. Either way, divination is a huge scam.

Yet this truth still prevails concerning people who are into divination:

2 Thessalonians 2:9-10 - Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

Worse, this is really the truth that involves people who are into the sin of divination:

Revelation 9:21 - Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

Even if divination shows itself to be a lie yet they refuse to repent. It's an outright rebellion against God. If the Pharaoh could still choose to harden his heart (as God allowed it) then don't expect people who are still into the occult not to harden their heart as well. Only God can open their eyes from the deception of divination.
