I remembered how often I hear that Satan loves Christmas because he doesn't want Jesus to grow up. But the Christmas season is over and one of the worst heresies existing is the celebration of the Sinulog. Notice that I emphasized SIN in the title because the whole festival in itself is sinful. People tell me that I'm crazy and stupid because of the Sto. Nino is still Jesus. I would like to raise my objections to their claim that the Sto. Nino is still Jesus. There's no child Jesus in Heaven. Jesus already completed everything He needed to do. The virgin birth is completed. Mary's role as His earthly mother is completed. He's already paid for the penalty of sins. All of these done when He was an adult in the flesh. Jesus is not reigning in Heaven as a child but at the right hand of the Father. It was Martin Luther King Jr. a day ago and I want to give my thoughts on a man I once so admired when I became a born again Christian. I thought of him as a true champion of human rights. Then I decided to read through his speech, " I Have a Dream " which unfortunately endorsed unequal yokes between Roman Catholics and born again Christians. Every stanza is so full of urging to unite both Roman Catholics and Protestants together. It's sickening and that's one fact that Roman Catholic fanatics need to realize that the Vatican honors Dr. King whether they like it or not. What I found not so surprising is the links that Dr. King was a friend of the Jesuits. Even the Jesuits openly confirmed it themselves. I don't deny that some Catholic apologists are sincere, polite and they defend their stand as professionally as possible. I've seen some of them have a constructive conversation with the likes of Dr. James White or Walter Martin. I could remember how Mitch Pacwa a Jesuit priest displayed so much dignity in defending his error against Walter Martin who professionally defended the truth in the John Ankberberg Show. I've also seen how some Roman Catholic apologists had a constructive conversation with Dr. White. Unfortunately, this isn't always the case. I've already ran across amateur and/or self-proclaimed Catholic faith defenders. Why do I say amateur? Dr. Taylor Marshall a Catholic apologist had in not getting emotional and sticking on topic. It's the first Sunday of the year and I think about is the topic of giving. Am I a cheerful giver or do I give my tithes and offerings without a cheerful heart? This is something that I thought about the relation of law and grace in the Christian life. Being under grace is not a nullification of the Law. Rather, faith establishes the Law (Romans 3:31). And one of them is on giving. I remembered reading through the Old Testament laws on giving. One of the most controversial subjects is tithing because the Old Testament covenant. The New Testament is very silent on tithing. Some argue that tithing was ceremonial law and not moral law. Nowhere in the Ten Commandments are we commanded to tithe. Some use Malachi 3:10-11 to justify tithing. Personally, I do believe in tithing as a way to discipline Christian spending but not tithing as the prosperity gospel teaches it. As the New Year just started a few days ago and today is the First Friday of the Month of 2018, I think about one thing that I'm having right now. I still struggle with how often I'm looking at the waves instead of Jesus. With the flesh, it's very easy to get tempted to think of how strong the waves are because I see it and how easy it is to ignore Jesus because I can't see him. We can read in Matthew 14:22-33 where Peter tried to walk on water. The scene of the storm was something. Peter tried to walk on the water and found himself to be looking at the waves. Peter's fear was there instead of faith. He ended up sinking instead of walking on water. Peter ended up screaming for help. Jesus saved Peter and rebuked him of how little was the latter's faith. This real incident shows what could happen if I don't focus on Jesus. There's the real issue that I tend to panic every time things don't go my way. But what I don't realize is that God al...

2017 is coming to an end and 2018 is coming soon. The world isn't getting any better and we're already in the last days. Ever since the Lord Jesus returned to Heaven the last days begun from the apostles. I don't know how many last days are remaining and prophecy is fulfilled. The more I read the Bible and the watch the news the more I'm convinced that they match. Matthew 7:13-14 says that the way to life is narrow. Is it easy to cross a narrow road? Absolutely not. The road to life is narrow. Salvation is free but the Christian life is full of struggles. The Christian life will be hard. Jesus said in John 15:18-19 that Christians will be hate by the world. They will also be persecuted by people who think they're doing God a favor (John 16:2). The Christian life was never a call for ease on Earth but a struggle. There's one comfort I have in trials and troubles is that I can make them out by God's grace. Philippians 2:12-13 talks about working out one...

It's nearly the start of a new year and I believe it would be nice to talk about Mary's sin offering. I can't help but admire the earthly mother of Jesus and how she willingly participated in God's plan. She knew through God all things are possible. It was by God's grace that Mary who wasn't born without sin gave birth to a sinless child.  Luke 2:22-24 And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought Him to Jerusalem, to present Him to the LORD;  (as it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the LORD;) and to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the Law of the LORD, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.
