Am I Showing Hatred or Sympathy For My False Accusers?

As the month ends I want to give on the point that part of me wants to forgive but the other side wants to persist in being unforgiving towards the false accusers. False accusations hurt and sometimes they need to be brought to court especially if the it could give me unwarranted punishment. While justice must be served but there's one duty that I must have is to pray for my false accusers. I could look at the account of the crucifixion where Jesus asked His Father to forgive His enemies (Luke 22:34).  Many times people think they know what they do but they don't. The fool tends to think that they know everything (Proverbs 12:15). It's because they spiritually blinded to the truth. There are even some people who think that the wickedness they do is for the glory of God (John 16:2). They have their high attitude of pride. It really tempts me to be hateful towards them. If that's so I would be no better than the Pharisees with my pride stuck in my head. Instead, shoul

Why I Believe Some Evangelicals Are Converting to Roman Catholicism

Some Roman Catholics are using the fact that some Evangelicals are becoming Roman Catholics as "proof" that they are the truth. I would like to talk about the reality to why some Evangelicals are becoming Roman Catholics. Are these Evangelicals who are converting to Roman Catholicism now "awakened"? On the contrary, this is what the Bible says: 1 John 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. If you were truly saved you would not depart from the Church. But many Evangelicals today are only Evangelicals by name but they were not truly born again Christians. If you're truly born again your spiritual rebirth can't be undone and there would be the mark of the perseverance of the saints. The truth of the matter is that Judas Iscariot was not saved and he lost it or that was saved. John 17:12

I'm Told to Go to Mass Again and Let the Priest Help Me

As a former Roman Catholic, I'm told that I'm just "misinformed". They tell me that I should start attending masses all over again and let the priest help me in spiritual matters. Okay, there's nothing wrong with letting the pastor help the person but is the person even helpful? Some Roman Catholics even tell me that I've been misinformed and misled by anti-Catholic Bible believing pastors. What's so disturbing is that they use the terms "Bible-believing" and "born again" to describe misled people. It could also be funny that while they consider themselves Christians but some of them even ask me, "Are you still a Christian or are you a Catholic?" But the question that I should raise for my former comrades to answer is, "Why do you use the term Bible-believing and born again to describe the deceived? We born again believe that we have to be born from above. We study the Greek and take it into context. If you ask where

I Want to Know God More Each Day

Image
Here's a beautiful song by Steve Green called "I Want to Know You More". I can't help but feel the lyrics of this song is what I wish I only knew in my Christian life. I wish I could only desire to know God more and more and hate more of the evil within me. I want to work out my salvation with fear and trembling by God's grace (Philippians 2:12-13).  There's no such thing as salvation without resulting in sanctification. If you're going to get saved then you're saved from sin. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Ephesians 2:8-10 and Titus 2:11-14 tell us that God's grace brings forth good works. Romans 3:31 says that the Law is not made void by faith but it's fulfilled by faith. James 2:14-26 says that faith without works is good as dead. A real faith produces good works as a result of salvation. Matthew 7:14-20 warns that people are known by their fruits. Why am I obsessed with good works and Bible study? It's because God is an infinite being a

My Inner Struggle With Calvinism is Still Going On

Image
As I look back in my Christian life and look forward I recalled how much I had some problems with Calvinism. I could agree with the problem of Total Depravity where people can't save themselves because of sin. I soon learned that you can't lose your salvation because of the truth called the Perseverance of the Saints. The true saints of God can't stop believing in Christ and I once thought it's possible to renounce Christ and be damned again until I did more Bible study. But there's one thing that I could say that I have a problem with the ULI of TULIP and why's that? I thought it's cruel to believe in Unconditional Election, Limited Atonement and Irresistible Grace. David W. Cloud of Way of Life Literature admitted he could embrace a Calvinist brother or sister in Christ but he's still convinced that election is serious error. The difference between the Calvinist Christian and the non-Calvinist Christian lies in their view of true conversion. Non-C

I'm Doing Self-Studies on Expository Preaching By Reading John F. MacArthur's Sermons and Books

Image
I remembered how often I enjoyed taking passages and desiring to expound them. I thought about John F. MacArthur's sermons and books. I remembered picking the book "Fool's Gold" and I started drinking whole ocean of truth in the second chapter called "Plexiglas Preachign: The Devastating Consequences of a Watered Down Message". I can't forget how angry that chapter made me when it stated the truth that watered down preaching is becoming more and more popular. I was further irritated at the prevalence of watered down preaching and I'm seeing the consequences unveil before my very eyes. I'm seeing how watered down messages are really more popular with a crazy world. I thought about how I used to berate MacArthur without any investigation. Many charges were like he supposedly doesn't believe in the blood or that many people miss the point. Another controversial issue is whether or not MacArthur thought that receiving the mark of the Beast a

My Reflection on God's Treatment of Jacob and Esau

Image
I still can't over the words in Malachi 1:2-3 which says: I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob’s brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob, and I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness. I did't give too much consideration until I started rereading Genesis. I thought of the number of times that God actually beat Jacob. There's no instance that God disciplined Esau. Instead, we see that God was disciplining Jacob. You can see that Jacob wasn't going to get away with sin and Esau was prospering much even without Isaac's blessing. When Jacob and Esau met the latter had so much riches that he didn't need the former's peace offering. But why was Jacob so broken and limping? It's because God loves Jacob. Hebrews 12:5-7 says that God disciplines those He loves. He doesn't leave them alone to enjoy their sin. Instead, He does everything to m

I Have No Reason to Call the Pope as "Holy Father"

Image
I find it irritating how often Roman Catholics come up with whatever poor excuse they have to call the Pope as the "Holy Father". Whether they like it or not Peter (who they assume as the first Pope) was not called "Holy Father" even once in Scripture. Not even the Good News Translation calls Peter as Holy Father. Guess who the GNT calls as "Holy Father" and it ain't Peter! John 17:11  And now I am coming to you; I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world. Holy Father! Keep them safe by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one just as you and I are one. Yup, when Jesus called God the Father as Holy Father in the religious sense then there's only one Holy Father or Most Holy Father. The wrong interpretation is that they say since 1 Peter 1:16 says that God tells people to be holy for He is holy as an excuse. Holiness for people is imputed but the problem of calling the Pope as "Holy Father"

I Have No Reason to Believe in the Doctrine of Carnal Christianity

Image
I remembered the time I listened to Paul Washer's sermons and while he said, "There are no carnal Christians!" he also stated that while Christians may fall into states of carnality but they don't fall into it indefinitely. Sometimes, I feel even my favorite preachers may seem to contradict themselves but I really want to say, "There are no carnal indefinite Christians!" Alternatively, I would want to say that there is no such thing as a worldly Christian. To be worldly means to be materialistic or too focused on the temporal rather than the eternal. I believe Christians can fall into states of worldliness but like Washer's argument they can't fall into states of worldliness indefinitely. That argument is not an invention of mine or Washer but it's from the Bible.  One of the verses misapplied is 1 Corinthians 3:1. Studying the Greek can help understand the differences. The Greek used for carnal here is sarkinois (σαρκίνοις) and not sarkos

I Believe Politically Correct Organizations Are Financed by Bribe Money

I just had a thought on past and present events with politically correct organizations and why they engage in selective outrage and selective justice. I don't think that they only do their selective outrage and selective justice based on countries that they feel they could bully (while they leave other countries they can't bully alone even if it's in need of their help because of human rights violations) but also because they are greedy of filthy lucre. 1 Timothy 6:10 warns that the love of money is the root of all evil. I still think about the dangers of bribery and how it breeds politically correct organizations' selective outrage and selective justice. I noticed how often some organizations give protection to rich criminals. I don't think they defend criminals just for the sake of defending criminals. If a normal street thug or drug pusher (who's not associated with big time drug dealers) without money died I don't they they care about it. Instead, an

I'm Getting Tired of Roman Catholic Mass Media's Selective Outrage

It's disturbing how selective outrage is really the trend. I read news of big time criminals who are wanted DEAD OR ALIVE getting killed by law enforcement or were killed out of self-defense then the Roman Catholic mass media screams "Human Rights Violation!" But when a priest commits several huge crimes such as pedophilia (often laced with homosexuality) and statutory rape they usually keep silent or tell people, "Satan is just making things up!" Satan is just making things up? That's one of the dumbest excuses I've ever heard from their mouths and I'm getting sick of it. As wise King Solomon said in Ecclesiastes that there's nothing new under the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:10). The Roman Catholic institution is always desperate to cover its deep, dark secrets. Either they tell you it's just a "small vain thing" or it's a lie cooked up by heretics to discredit their "one true church". Some of the biggest lies that's
