My Thoughts on Charismatic Chaos and COVID-19
I think the problem of the charismatic chaos and COVID-19 is really stupid. Copeland saying that the late Frederick K.C. Price (who was 89) won't die of COVID-19 is just stupid. Was Copeland trying to be so sure? Sure, there are some COVID-19 survivors but it seems Copeland is guilty of hyper-faith. Why do you think churches are given instructions to be in discernment when to open or not to open? I did remember criticizing John F. MacArthur for what could be a reckless action - though I did it as a concerned brother. I still think how Grace To You has reopened yet has set precautions. Some churches are still not allowing formal gatherings due to constraints like location or size. A small church could easily cause COVID-19 to spread when it's crowded. A big church can only allow so few for now. I can't imagine if Copeland would allow a full-packed auditorium.
Seriously, who can't forget this one if they ever saw it? It had me thinking that Copeland is really out of his mind with this "blow away the COVID-19". I even wonder right now if members of Copeland's church or any of these Pentecostal churches will refuse the COVID-19 vaccine because they believe they can blow the epidemic away. Yet, why didn't the whole "blow away the COVID-19" work on Price? Instead, Price died of COVID-19. Price couldn't blow it away. Yet, I wouldn't be surprised if there are still people stupid enough to still believe that they could treat this "blow away COVID-19" like some kind of miracle cure instead of getting vaccinated. The guy continues to expose himself to be a charlatan. It's because if something is too good to be true or doesn't match the Scriptures - you have the duty to shun it!
I'd rather trust the COVID-19 vaccine as God's provision rather than any so-called miracle cure from a quack preacher. I don't want to end up as somebody who refused the help from someone sent from God because he wanted direct help from God. God has good reasons not to directly help. God has good reasons as to why He has providentially allowed vaccines to be developed instead of providing miracle cures. I guess it's because God wants to be diligent. Making a vaccine is hard work. Administering vaccines isn't easy. God has ordained man to work which is probably another reason why He usually doesn't provide miracle cures or always cure diseases. I believe that any vaccination programs may end up becoming opportunities for soulwinning for Christian health workers too. Good thing (by God's grace) that I quit watching TBN years ago or I would've probably damaged myself during this COVID-19 epidemic.
