I'm Afraid Mark 16:18 is Misapplied by Quack Preachers

Image
Mark 16:9-20 is often subject to scrutiny (as I've read) and why the modern versions still put the verses is still questionable. I was thinking about the 17 verses not found in the modern versions (though often found in footnotes) and this passage. Mark 16:18 is put into question because of what would be considered absurd to do for today's Christian: 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. The verse has been misapplied by crazy snake-handling Charismatic preachers. Yes, the Charismatic movement is full of crazy stuff such as a pastor making people do really hazardous stuff which I wouldn't elaborate on. Just reading reports of a pastor making people eat grass, drink dangerous waters, or fart on them to heal them makes me think that misapplication of the Bible happens. It's not because they don't read their Bible. It's also because they fail to take the v...

My Thoughts on Charismatic Chaos and COVID-19

Image
One of the many reasons why I stopped supporting Chick Publications and the fraudulent story of the late Alberto R. Rivera is the support of the Charismatic Movement. I don't really care if this Charismatic is anti-Catholic or pro-Catholic - it's still grounded in serious error. Rivera himself had an alliance with the Charismatic Movement and even preached at the late Tony Alamo's pulpit. Alamo was a charismatic heretic aside from the fact he was a sexually immoral pervert. There's also FMH-Child (ran by Arthur Bruce Hallman) which is another charismatic ministry and a partner of Alamo's. Now, another crazy Charismatic preacher I'd like to blast (and I sort of listened to him before) is Kenneth Copeland. It's really obvious that the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) is a mess with how they even could afford to have Copeland. Well, isn't it that TBN is run by the Crouches? True, some people got saved watching TBN because of their alliance with the Billy ...

Why I Don't Believe in Pentecostal Prophecies

Image
Kenneth Copeland is what I'd call a false prophet . After hearing it when he said that the Coronavirus would be gone "sooner than you think" - I really want to raise my eyebrows and stare at him. It's because the Bible strongly warns against false prophets like him.  Deuteronomy 18:21-22 - And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? 22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him. Just the fact that the Coronavirus is still here and it's still plaguing people is proof Copeland is a false prophet. Yet, you have to wonder why he's got lots of popularity. The answer? Turn to Jeremiah 5:31 where people love to have false prophets give them false assurance. Do you remember how popular Hananiah was to Jeremiah? Do you remember how Elijah w...

I Can't Approve of Teaching Charismatic Methods of Worship in a Baptist Church

It should really be upsetting how I ended up hearing of a Baptist pastor who wants to introduce charismatic ways of worship into a Baptist church. The first instance that was mentioned (at least to my ears) was when the pastor made up lousy excuses such as chapel hours and worship services are a time to unwind. It was his excuse when he was caught doing the speaking in tongues and charismatic methods of worship in a youth fellowship. I have seen various charismatic methods of worship and they all end up pretty messy for a reason - their spirit is not the Holy Spirit. I remembered watching the Trinity Broadcasting Network only to drop it later because of all the chaos in the charismatic movement. Here's just one good example of what I don't want to take place in the local Baptist church (or any non-Baptist Christian denomination) for that matter. I've seen the road where charismatic ways of worship would land itself into. I can't imagine going to Sunday morning or...
