My Reflection on Jesus' First Miracle

As the month comes to an end, I want to do another reflection. This time, I would want to focus on Jesus' first miracle on John 2:1-11. Here, the Papists or Roman Catholics have insisted to use this chapter to justify their devotion to Mary. Others seek to use it to justify drinking hard liquor and getting drunk. But I would like to reflect on the meaning of this chapter. Mary told us to follow only Jesus I could think about the encounter of Mary and Jesus. This is the Mary of the Bible - she's no proud Madonna, she's a humble woman and she knew why Jesus rebuked her. I find it so irritating to why Roman Catholics insist that this chapter is where Mary mediates. They say they have read John 2:5 but why do they insist in still praying to Mary?  They need to further study it what it says. Mary here was gently rebuked in John 2:4. The Good News Bible even has Jesus gently telling His earthly mother, "Do not tell me what to do. My hour has not yet come." In other

My Thoughts on Billy Graham's Death

Image
It's really upsetting at how Dr. Billy Graham has died at 99 years old. I can't be too certain about his eternal destiny but right now I want to assume he's in Hell right now. I admit, I used to admire Dr. Graham himself back when I was newly saved - until I started discovering his affair with the Popes. Pope John Paul II even called Dr. Graham as a brother-in-Christ. Other wolves who passed away (and used to support) are Robert Schuller of Hour of Power and Paul Crouch of Trinity Broadcasting Network. Here's an interesting video that has Dr. Graham's real heretical move. No real honest to goodness pastor would even think of Roman Catholicism to be another Christian denomination. As a former Roman Catholic, I find it disgusting at how pastors like Dr. Graham had indirectly discouraged me from speaking out. I thank God I managed to read through several publications that actually helped affirm my worst fears about Roman Catholicism as a deadly system. What ma

I Still Can't Get Enough of This Song "Jesus Put the Song in My Heart"

Image
This song is a children's song but I can never have enough of this song. This is for one reason: it's because Christians are saved not in their sins but from their sins. Matthew 1:21 says that Jesus came to save His people from their sins. 1 Corinthians 6:11 says that those who were once unworthy to enter God's Kingdom are given a new life. 1 Thessalonians 1:9 says that a Christian is saved from idols to serve the living and true God. Hebrews 9:14 says that Jesus' blood was done in order to save people from their dead works to serve the true and living God. This song sings the timeless message that you can't get saved and still remain the same. If you're truly converted then how can you still love sin and never grow up from sinful habits? The doctrine of Antinomianism is one dangerous doctrine. Some people today supposedly said a prayer but they are not saved to start with. The very idea that a person can be saved and still stay the same is nowhere in the B

I Have No Reason to Believe That Feng Shui Isn't Condemned by the Word of God

It's really crazy to think if someone can claim to be a Christian while believing in any form of astrology at the same time. Feng Shui is no different. Some might think it's "harmless fun"  but that's what Satan wants people to think of witchcraft. Whether they like it or not - Feng Shui is simply another form of witchcraft as it's associated with astrology and superstition. It's impossible to divorce Feng Shui from the occultic practices linked to it. This reminds me of the warning God gave in Deuteronomy 18:10-12 which says: There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination , or an observer of times , or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits , or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and becasue of these abominations that the LORD thy God doth driv them out from before thee. It&#

My Reflection on 1 Corinthians 13 - What is Real Love?

Image
1 Corinthians 13 is the love chapter in the Bible that talks about what real love is. The older language uses charity or love in action. The Greek word used is agape or ag-ah'-pay. Strong's definition has it as love that is the affection or benevolence. Thayer's definition would have it as affection, good will, love, benevolence, brotherly love. This is not the worldly kind of love but genuine love. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 I thought about the many times I wish I had the tongues of men and of angels but all of that becomes useless without love. How can that be? I could think of how men wish they had the tongues of men and of angels to court someone they like - but if that motive was for lust or power then all those fine speeches mean nothing. It can also apply to how somebody can explain stuff so well - but if it were not in love then it's comparable to a sounding brass or tinkling cymbal. It's further validated by the proverb that says, "Words are like

I Find Ash Wednesday to Be a License to Hypocrisy

Image
Note: It's Matthew 6, not Matthew 5 Ash Wednesday 2018 falls on the same day as Valentine's Day for this year. As a former Roman Catholic, I can testify the hypocrisy of Ash Wednesday not just with my folks but with almost everyone around me as well. I always called Christmas as the most hypocritical time of the year - but haven't we forgotten Lent is an extension of that hypocrisy? Why do I find it hypocritical? There's the real reason behind Ash Wednesday. I've noticed how people have used their ash marks to brag to everyone that they're fasting (or better yet abstaining). However, the Bible gives specific instructions about fasting. Matthew 6:16-18 tells us that when you fast - wash your face and don't make it for show.  This is pretty much like the hypocrisy of Ahab. Do you remember the account when Ahab fasted, wore sackcloth and applied ashes on his head in 1 Kings 21:27-28? Unfortunately the next chapter shows us how Ahab's repentance w

Why I Believe Letting Teenagers Get into Romantic Relationships Is Dangerous

Image
I could remember how fickle a teenager's mind really is. A teenager who's mature enough understands that they're not mature enough for certain things. Part of maturity is when you realize you're not yet ready for something and you do something to get ready for it. But most teenagers today don't want to accept that they're not still mature enough. They want their freedom without considering the fact it means losing financial support from one's parents. With this in mind, I would like to talk about why allowing teenagers to get into romantic relationships is a dangerous thing. No one should confuse a crush from a true love. A crush is just an infatuation. It could be bordered in some personality traits (ex. intelligence) or admiration of appearance where rage hormones may help fuel lustful thoughts. There is always the statement that as teenagers you must admire from afar. But some teenagers just can't wait so they get into the dangerous world of emot
