It's just a few more days and it'll be October or Reformation Month. The Reformation started on October 31, 1517 and now it's 2017. It's already 500 years of the Reformation and that convinces me that the Lord's coming is near. At the same time, I'm convinced of the promise of the Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 16:18-19 that the Gates of Hell will not prevail against the Church. What should be important that the Reformation is not a way to new Christianity but to bring people back to true Christianity. I read the Book of Acts, I read through history and here's what. Should I even be surprised that people today tell me I can't study science unless I believe in evolution? One thing that I need to emphasize is that evolution isn't exclusive to atheist and an evolutionist may also be a theist. Evolution itself has more theistic roots than atheistic roots. Almost every world religion buys Charles Darwin's creationism. What both atheistic evolutionists and theistic evolutionists have in common is to tell me that if I don't believe in evolution then I can't believe in science. This is problematic for one reason. Talking against gambling will always be politically incorrect. Today, we've got the problem of legalized gambling. Just because the government made it legal doesn't mean that it's moral. God anointed government to watch over and rule over people (Romans 13:1-3). But many times, governments have gone against their mandate. Worse, some gambling activities are done in the name of charity. The term "gambling for charity" is nothing more than an oxymoron because gambling and charity are totally against each other. Why is there no such thing as charitable gambling? You can think of what motivates gambling. Gambling is motivated by the love of money (1 Timothy 6:10). Casinos operate in the quest of the owners to get rich fast by fooling others that they can get rich fast. Proverbs 13:11 warns that hastily acquired wealth is easy come and easy go. I remembered when I was newly saved and I thought about the Mark of the Beast. I even hear that people should not even accept a biochip implant in this day and age because it's the mark of the Beast. The claim that the current biochip is the mark of the Beast is stupid because it's not even the Tribulation period yet. Also, why are people so afraid of social security, membership shopping and whatever prototype the mark of the Beast has when it's not even the mark of the Beast? Is the sermon getting too long? That's what I think whenever a pastor's message is that long. You can think that a Sunday service always has its allocated time. Let's say that Sunday school starts at 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. We have a 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. worship service for the morning and 5:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. sunset service. There is time allocated for each activity such as the singing of hymns, the choir singing, the special number, the sermon, dealing with unsaved visitors, baptism and dedication of infants. If there's anything that could cause a worship service to conclude in a much later time it's the sermon.  What's with the worship sermon? While overly short sermons can bore me but overly long sermons can also bore me. Some pastors tend to lack discipline or are overly talkative in the pulpit. I'm pretty much a King James Only-ist and I prefer it over all the modern translations in English. I still tend to think that every modern version is corrupt especially with the problem of missing verses. But I do have one concern that I know a certain pastor who always fights with pastors who are either non-KJV only or who won't use a King James Bible. I thought about how Steven Anderson (one of the worst IFB and he has a very watered-down message of repentance) has actually made a fool out of himself in several interviews and not just the KJV Only controversy. I don't think King James Only-ism is a real problem. Personally, I always get disturbed by missing verses and some missing words. That's why I don't use a New International Version of the Bible anymore. I don't trust modern translations. I consider James R. Why is the Roman Catholic institution so against the death penalty?  I could still remember the events when the late John Paul II called for an abolition of death penalty worldwide. When he died, his successor the retired Benedict XVI also called for its abolition. I shouldn't be surprised that the first Pope have come from the Jesuit Order. While it's not surprising but I'm still frustrated. The Bible gave the mandate of death penalty against heinous crimes all the while the Roman Catholic institution confuses it for murder.  The excuse has to do with being "pro-life" but I could talk about a bigger reason. While there are some saved believers who are against death penalty because they think life imprisonment will do better justice but the Roman Catholic institution may have other motives. Today is 9/11. I still can't forget that fateful day and I was still a teenager when it happened. I remembered all my suspicions that Islam wasn't a peaceful religion and I was right about it. But what's so sad is that the average Muslim today thinks it's un-Islamic. At first, I wanted to say "Shut up!" to the Muslim woman who said 9/11 was un-Islamic. What's so sad today is that the average Muslim today knows very little or even nothing about what kind of man Muhammad really was. It's the traditional birthday of Mary today and I want to give a piece of my mind on Mary the earthly mother of Jesus as a star of Reformed Theology. It upsets me how often Marian idolatry is so rampant that they treat the earthly mother of Jesus like she's a pagan goddess. They teach so many doctrines about her that isn't true and when people disagree with them the say, "Go ahead and say she's not important." I'm not saying Mary isn't important but here's one truth that must be accepted: she's a sinner saved by grace. They say that how can Jesus be sinless if Mary is a sinner? Did they even realize it was through Adam and not through Eve that sin nature passed to humanity? Also, it should be by God's grace that Jesus could enter into a sinner's womb and not get tainted by sin at all.  How would Mary fit into the doctrine of Reformed Theology or Calvinism? I remembered reading the book "The Holiness of God" by Robert C. Sproul Sr. and one of the words that amazed me was how often a person sings "Amazing Justice". I always feel like every time I fall down, God always gives me a spanking while the wicked sin and sin and they are hardly punished. I could say that justice is slow. I even feel like justice delayed is justice denied when that's not always the case. Yes, justice should not be delayed when it calls for it but sometimes justice. I'm already used to it and neither am I surprised that there are Roman Catholics who make fun of born again Christian practices. What's even ironic is that they misquote Mark 7:8-13 while rejecting Sola Scriptura. I've already seen them make fun of Scriptural method of baptism which is by immersion all the while they have no real support for infant baptism so I'm not surprised they also make fun of the Lord's supper. I remember the unforgettable, irritating argument with people over the Scripture. I thought about the time I argued with someone over the Gospel. I tend to think that the only way to witness to the lost is to be as cheesy and offensive as possible towards them. But I thought there's one principle that I fail to consider: it's speaking the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). It also brings me back to 1 Corinthians 13:2 that says I may know a lot but use is it if I don't have any love towards unbelievers? Not the worldly kind of love but the love that rebukes people for their sake and not for my own sake. It's wrong to have a Joel Osteen or sugar-coated feel good gospel.
