So You're Asking Me to Be Tolerant of Everyone Else's Beliefs?
People tell me that I should be more tolerant and loving or that all religions are welcome. What I'm seeing right now from this clip is hardly complete tolerance. Douglas Wilson a Presbyterian pastor speaks at Indiana University and you have a couple of people breaking the courtesy rule. I guess such people only appeal to manners and right conduct if it benefits them. So much for saying that atheist morality is superior because it's not. If people have no fear of punishment then what reason would they have not to do anything wrong? If there are no moral absolutes then what's the use of calling Christian propaganda as whatever accusations they have in this video?
Why is complete tolerance not possible at all? Let's put the scenario of good and evil which are always in opposition to one another. God is 100% holy and He can't tolerate sin in His presence. Satan is 100% unholy and he can't tolerate holiness in his presence. If you love good then you will hate evil. If you love evil then you will hate good. An honest employee can't be comfortable working with a dishonest boss. An honest boss can't be comfortable having a dishonest employee. Amos 3:3 says that the two can't walk together except they be agreed. It's the same issue to why Christians are hated by "liberals" because their principles will always clash.
So why am I not tolerant of everyone else's beliefs? Contrary to what they believe, God is not tolerant towards man-made religions because they're sending people to Hell at a huge rate. The Bible doesn't tell you to respect and accept other religions. Instead, Jesus blasted that notion by declaring in John 14:6 that He is the only Way to the Father. The question should be why is there only one Way to the Father but why is there even a way to the Father. People can't be saved by doing the best they can to get saved. All their "good" works are but filthy rags before God (Isaiah 64:6). Call it hatred all you want but the Bible's definition of love is not according to the world (1 Corinthians 13). It's all about loving people enough to tell them the truth no matter how much it hurts.
