Why I Find the Demand for Complete Tolerance to Be 100% Impossible

Right now, people say that I should be more tolerant. First, let's define tolerance. Tolerance means the ability or willingness to tolerate or allow something. It also means to have a fair, permissive and objective attitudes, opinions and beliefs that varies from one's own. It also means the ability to endure. Now are we called to tolerate? To a certain extent. Is it good to have an open mind? It depends on the case. But today the problem is the demand for complete tolerance.

The problem of those vile people who call themselves liberals is that they demand people to "coexist" even if it's impossible. But what they really mean is comply. Allow me to tell you why I believe that complete tolerance to be 100% impossible. The world has opposing forces and we know it. The two forces that will never walk together are good and evil. Amos 3:3 warns that the two can't walk together except they be agreed. While there are differences that can be compromised but there are also differences that can't be compromised. The same goes for both good and evil.

The whole "love revolution" is hypocritical. It protects everyone in its sphere but born again Christians. The big problem of such blinded people is that they can't understand if love exists then so must hate. How can you say that you must hate? Do you know what while God is love He also hates? God loves sinners that He hates the sin that makes Him angry with the wicked at a daily basis. God's love is attributed to His holiness that He must hate sin. Christians love righteousness so they must hate wickedness. The wicked love wickedness so they must hate righteousness. While you can certainly love different kinds of good or different kinds of evil but you can't love both good and evil.

There's the issue that it's good to be open-minded but there's also the call to be narrow-minded when need be. There's the call to narrow down one's thoughts. To narrow one's mind doesn't mean you close it. Rather, you have an open minded but you are careful of what you add into it. Open-mindedness is as necessary as light, fire, water and air. Too much of light will blind you. Too much fire will burn you. Too much water will drown you. Too much air will cause you to hyperventilate. Likewise, having an overly open mind is going to confuse the person.

Allow me to explain what it really means to narrow your mind to a certain extent. It's good to be open-minded about new ideas as long as they don't oppose the Bible. Is it okay for Christians to use modern technology? Only if this modern technology doesn't violate Christian principles. Is it okay for Christians to get into sports? Only if sports doesn't get in the way of their worship. This principle of open-mindedness still demands you narrow your mind to a certain extent. We have road widening projects but if the road becomes too wide it could cause a lot of trouble. If the road is too narrow it could cause heavy traffic to the point nothing could move. If the passage way for water is too broad it could break. If the passage way for water is too narrow then the water flow will be too slow.

The problem today is that people just want to accept any idea that pleases their flesh instead of God. The reason why they can't tolerate Christians or anybody who goes against their ideals is because they can't be reconciled. A homosexual baker won't bake a Christian wedding cake for the same reason why a Christian baker won't bake a cake for a homosexual wedding. An abortionist can't tolerate the views of an anti-abortionist because the former will lose his business. A Muslim who hates homosexuals can't tolerate a Christian who wants to lead homosexuals to Jesus Christ because both have contrasting views on how to deal with homosexuals. A person who believes in Antinomianism can't tolerate a person who believes in Christian holiness because loving evil makes you hate the good. A person who believes in salvation by good works can't tolerate a person who believes in salvation by faith in Jesus Christ because pride and humility are opposed to each other.

So if you want complete tolerance then forget it. It's just impossible because there will always be hatred for something as a result of a love for something. It's a dream that most people want to fulfill only to find out that they can't fulfill it. Good and evil can't walk together. God and Satan will always be eternal enemies. Christianity will never be acceptable to the world because it's not of the world. The truth will always be the truth no matter how few believe it. A lie will always be a lie no matter how many people believe it.
