Giving a Piece of My Mind About Mourning for a Gorilla on Memorial Day Last May 30, 2016 US Standard Time
This is one thing I've heard and I'm pretty ready to slam my head at the desk yet again. From what I heard, Harambe the gorilla was shot to save a child. Unfortunately for animal rights activists, we're already seeing animals getting more rights than humans. So what's really more important? A gorilla's life or those who died for the country's freedom? A gorilla's life or the unborn whose rights are denied no thanks to political correctness?
I would dare say that it's because today people are taught evolution in the schools. The idea that men are just "human apes" has been more accepted than special creation. The idea that men and apes either have a common ancestor or that men came from monkeys are just unscientific. The rule of genetics says that everything reproduces according to its own kind. Today's people have willfully become so ignorant to the point they think they're so wise even when they're so foolish. Romans 1:22 warns of foolish people who profess to be wise. Foolish people are wise in their own eyes which makes it all the more annoying to ever hold a discussion with them.
While animal cruelty in any form is indeed a sin. But when animal rights are above human rights then something's really dead wrong. I guess somebody flays an animal alive a huge crowd shouts cruelty. But what if it was a human that got flayed alive? I guess nobody would shout cruelty or such an act would be quickly forgotten in favor of the animal that was flayed alive. Both acts will always be wrong. If a lion is about to attack a human then shooting it is acceptable. If another human is about to cause serious harm or causing serious harm then shooting him or he is acceptable. To mourn over a rampaging animal who was shot to save another human is indeed a very unscientific decision to make.

What's worse there are many who say they're Christians but aren't batting an eye about people who perish in their sins. The great preacher Charles H. Spurgeon once said that if you have no desire to see the lost saved, you may not be saved at all. How true. Being saved makes you want to see others saved. Today, many people think that they're "Christians" all because of some decision they made, all because they claim to be Christians but they're in fact false converts.
