I'm Disgusted at CBCP's Archbisop Villegas' Hypocrisy Concerning Ill-Gotten Wealth
This is a recent quote by Lingayen Archbishop Socrates Villegas. I really find it really something that this guy should talk about corruption and money that should be given to the poor. Just because you talk about money that should be given to the poor doesn't mean that you're a man of God. Do you remember when Mary Magdalene gave an alabaster ointment anointing for Jesus in John 12? You need to consider that Judas Iscariot was noted to be a thief and that he stole from the treasure box of the apostles. This is where Villegas shows that he's indeed a Judas Iscariot along with the other Pharisees of Rome. This is purely selective outrage such as when he criticizes the Anti-Terrorism Bill and the non-renewal of the government franchise of ABS-CBN. Villegas dares to talk about freedom of speech and now helping the poor never mind the well-documented crimes and scandals of Rome that are hidden away from Roman Catholics lest they find out the truth!
What scandals am I talking about? The Vatican has a long history of scandals involving finances aside from sex scandals involving women and children. I won't single out the sales of indulges or prayers for the dead done by Johannes Tetzel. The late Anthony Pezzotta in his book "Truth Encounter" also mentions how money is required for masses said for the deceased. It's really something when the phrase "When a coin in the coffer clings - a coin from Purgatory springs." has been very effective. Tetzel's scandals involved claiming that they can save souls for a price. What Martin Luther declared when burning the papal bulls was that salvation is not for sale. Yet, many people today are still believing that priests save souls - a doctrine that has allowed many scandals to happen and to be well-hidden for some time. Do you want to report your priest for ill-gotten wealth? Don't do so or your priest may damn your soul to Hell! Before the Reformation, both Jan Hus and Girolamo Savonarola were burned alive for exposing the ill-gotten wealth of Rome.
This is also where I think Villegas' hypocrisy is exposed. A lot of corrupt politicians in the Philippines are also very religious Roman Catholics. The parishes receive a lot of donations sourced from ill-gotten wealth. Yet, Villegas could still afford to talk about getting angry at corruption when a lot of corrupt politicians are donating much to the cause of Rome. Like Tetzel, Villegas is a hypocrite of a high level. Not to mention, Jesus also condemned the Pharisees for hoarding much wealth with long prayers. Although the verse can't be found in Matthew 23:14 because it's not in Roman Catholic translations (and other modern translations) - the same condemnation can be found in Mark 12:40 and Luke 20:47 in said translations! Once again, the selective hypocrisy of the Roman Catholic mass media has been exposed!
With that said, I'm getting tired of Rome's selective outrage. It always had operated in such a way to make themselves look holy. Unfortunately for them, their judgment is really just around the corner. However, God is still patiently calling out the Elect from Babylon (Revelation 18:4) before He will finally destroy the Great Whore of Revelation.
