I'd Rather Not Dwell on Ongoing Coronavirus Conspiracy Theories

Why am I avoiding the Coronavirus conspiracy theories now? I dare believe it's almost impossible to do any factual research on the Internet. Sure, some websites are indeed reliable but there's always a whole lot of mess to deal with. Don't believe everything you read on the Internet. Just because it's on the Internet doesn't mean it's automatically true or false. We may be in the information and digital age then again deception is very common. A lie will usually travel two miles before the truth can put its boots. If a lot of conspiracy theories could be made about this and that then the Coronavirus is no different. The Coronavirus is certainly an epidemic with so many unanswered questions. It's potentially a hotspot for conspiracy theorists to earn plenty of attention or even filthy lucre by writing conspiracy theories in relation to the subject.

I could remember that I was so deep into conspiracy theories back in my early Christian days. Among my favorite sites back then were both Chick Publications and Jesus-is-Savior. Both sites are run by conspiracy nuts but I cared less back then. I was really determined to find information about the Vatican and just about everything. I got into 9/11 conspiracy theories, there were even some crazy theories about the SARS disease, Pokemon (which I remembered was unfairly maligned as "the new evil" by some crazy fundamentalists), saying rock music supposedly contains supernaturally inserted messages, and I'm not surprised that there are conspiracy theories about the Coronavirus too. Somehow, conspiracy theories sell a lot of money, right? Many tend to buy it, especially if they're enthusiastic about spiritual warfare.

My mistake before was dwelling on these conspiracy theories. I used to read a lot of Vatican conspiracy theories. However, shouldn't the Bible come before the Vatican? True, the Vatican is indeed a great evil to this world but witnessing to lost people comes first. Talking to Roman Catholics about Vatican crimes will just make them too angry to listen to the truth they need to hear. My time of dwelling too much on Vatican conspiracy theories gave me huge opportunity losses when I could've talked about salvation instead. I wasted too much time talking about the Jesuit murders when it's more important to address salvation. If I were to do the same mistake again then think of how much time I'd be wasting talking nonsense.

2 Corinthians 10:5 provides sound advice. I should just take down every vain imagination. I know my mind is tempted to go back to conspiracy theories but how many of my guesses are true? A lot of conspiracy theories are usually just speculations, exaggerated, or some are even made just to gain attention or even money. These strongholds must be pulled down. I would be guilty of overthinking. If not thinking at all is bad then thinking too much is also bad. Salt is good but wouldn't too much salt ruin the meal? It's just like thinking too much can also ruin the brain as much as not thinking at all.

Pretty much, I need to remember that God has a purpose for all times of testing. Sometimes, I do feel that epidemics are meant to test believers. Job was tested by God with several diseases and misfortunes. God isn't calling a meeting with the Son, the Holy Spirit, and all the angels and saints inquiring why there's an epidemic right now. If ever the Coronavirus is a bioweapon by the wicked then time will come for their punishment.
