I'm 100% Sure That Jesus' Resurrection is No April Fool's Joke

Isn't it amazing that April Fool and Easter's Sunday hit on the same day for this year? Here's an explanation is because the Lenten cycle follows a lunar cycle which usually coincides with the Passover festival. April 1 became Easter Sunday during the years 1923, 1934, 1945 and 1956 and now it's happened again. This would be a good time to talk about how sinful people tend to treat the Resurrection of Christ as a hoax when it isn't.

It reminds me of the time when the Pharisees decided to bribe the guards to tell people that Jesus' body was stolen and He had not resurrected.

Matthew 28:12-15
[12] And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers, [13] Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept. [14] And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you. [15] So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

The problem didn't end with the Pharisees. I remembered reading the book written by D. James Kennedy called "Why I Believe" years before he joined the Lord in glory. I still have the old edition which didn't include the chapters on believing on the holy catholic (universal) church and the Trinity. I still thought of the chapter titled "Why I Believe in the Resurrection" which talked about some of the most ridiculous theories ever written to try and explain the resurrection off.

The testimony of the Pharisees would be considered bogus by this one simple fact concerning Roman soldiers. For any Roman soldier to fall asleep on duty meant not only termination of one's job but also one's life. The robbery theory itself couldn't suffice because the tomb was well-guarded. Roman soldiers had rigorous training that they couldn't use it as an excuse. But the Pharisees wanted to pass it on as such because of the hardness of their hearts. This hardness didn't just grow there. More and more evil theories to try and mock the resurrection just kept going on. I'm not a bit surprised at how sinful man will try to explain the resurrection.

I'm amazed to think that some people even want to say the Gospels were written hundreds of years after the events. The difference is that unlike pagan myths - archaeology has proven these Gospels to be historically accurate. It's not like the various stories of several world religions today where there's one inconsistency after the other. Instead, secular history has even verified the very existence of Jesus Christ of Nazareth as a real person. History has proven the Bible right over and over again yet you have people who choose to still laugh at it like it's a book of fables. If the Bible is just a book of fables then why do they hate it so and want to discredit it? It's because it goes against their pride and sinfulness!

Some have suggested that a vision came - which is frequently used by godless entertainers who treat Jesus as some kind of myth either because they're atheists or new agers. This vision theory is however debunked with the women carrying spices to anoint His dead body on the Sabbath. We can also account that Mary the sister of Lazarus sat outside the tomb weeping because her Lord was dead and she thought the corpse was stolen? What's important to know is that in the history of hallucinations is that there is no incident that 500 people hallucinate the same thing at the same time. A unified hallucination can't happen especially when people from different backgrounds and temperaments all saw the same vision at the same time.

The swoon theory itself is defying basic medical science. This is really ridiculous for many reasons where science doesn't defeat Christianity but defends it instead. Some wanted to suggest that Jesus simply swooned, that He was taken down from the cross and that He revived inside the tomb. However, what's failed are the events that happened. Any common man if they were beaten to a pulp with a cat-of-nine tails would have been so weak from loss of too much blood. When the Roman centurion pierced his side - both blood and water poured out proving that Jesus had died physically. Also, the body of Jesus was folded in several grave clothes (and His head was wrapped) would restrict His movement. Open air and not a closed tomb was needed to revive a person who had merely swooned. Even if He did extricate Himself from the grave clothes - the pain of the nailed hands would make too painful to move the stone never mind he had lost a lot of blood.

Yet, it should be amazing that even with all the evidence that people still choose to believe these ridiculous myths. These are myths that can be refuted by studying some science and history! If they could go ahead and lie about the Resurrection then they can go back and try to refute the Creation with various delusional theories such as atheistic evolution or to believe in the lie of unlimited human progress. The truth is that no matter how obvious truth is but a heart hardened in sin refuses to savingly believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and what He did for sinners to pay for their sins. But I can guarantee and say that no matter ow many critics laugh at the Resurrection - death and judgment are not a huge joke. One day, the Lord Jesus will become the Judge of all the world. Will He be your Savior or will He be your Judge?
