This is Probably the Best Answer I'll Ever Get From Rabid Roman Catholic Faith Defenders!

After a discussion turned into a debate with several Roman Catholic faith defenders, it looks like their best answer has become, "You shut up! Your argument is invalid because the Catholic Church which was founded on 33 A.D. said so!" That's a major problem when you say the church said so. While I admit some Baptists and other Christian denominations are indeed guilty of quoting the pastor instead of the Scriptures, Roman Catholics more or less make the same mistake. The difference is that born again Christianity relies on the Scripture and Roman Catholics rely on what their church, councils or incumbent Pope has to say.

When they say that Sola Scriptura isn't Scriptural the best verse they quote was from John 21:25 that says, "And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen." I agree with that verse. But if you take a look at what it really means, any unimportant detail like doing your personal stuff like brushing your teeth or taking a shower is not relevant to the record of Scripture. It's always Scripture taken out of context and the authority of the papacy is put above the authority of the Scripture.

The foundation of any cult is built on Scriptures taken straight of context. That's why they're built on sinking sand and that's why they hate the idea of expository preaching. While 2 Thessalonians 2:15 seem to suggest going against Sola Scriptura but instead it affirms it. No other tradition was to be obeyed except by the word or by epistle. None of the apostles taught the Rosary, having to pass through Mary or papal infallibility which further negates the idea that the Roman Catholic institution was founded on 33 A.D. because that's just too preposterous.

The whole problem with papal infallibility is that any Pope could claim they Holy Spirit preserved them from doctrinal error. Although the Pope isn't spared from making common mistakes like he could mistake salt for sugar due to an eyesight deficiency but he could still like that the Holy Spirit supposedly gave him a new revelation. If the Pope wished to declare an absurd doctrine he could just lie that the Holy Spirit came to him. No wonder the Roman Catholic institution has been left in so much error!
