My Answer to People Who Keep Telling Me to Follow Everybody Else

It's a common mistake that people say that you must follow the world. People tell me that I must follow the world. But that's not what the Bible says. What does the Bible say about following the world?

Here's what the Bible says about following the world:
John 15:18-19 -  If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
Romans 12:1-2 - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
James 4:4 -  Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
1 John 2:15 - Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

I have really no reason to keep following the world. Do you know that most of the time, the world is wrong? I can't be faithful to God and popular with the world at the same time. I must take my pick and by God's grace, I choose to be faithful even at the cost of popularity. Just because many do it doesn't make it right.

Do you know the majority is always wrong? Matthew 7:13-14 says:
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

It's the narrow road that leads to life and the broad way leads to destruction. History has proven too many times that the majority is usually wrong but why do people continue to insist in taking the path that everybody is taking? Based on man's fallen nature they would rather ride on popular opinion. They are careful not to offend anyone but God. But that's just dead wrong because God is God even if majority says He isn't.

I'm afraid today truth is based on what majority thinks rather than the truth itself. I'm not saying that the minority is always right either. I mean 3,000 Israelities were a minority of those who chose not to repent of the golden calf and were still killed. The issue of truth has never been whether or not it's the majority or the minority: it's always based what's true and what's false.
