I Have No Reason to Accept Entertainment Driven Churches as Born Again Christian Churches

One of my biggest concerns today is the rise of entertainment driven churches. What should have been a Sunday worship service has become a concert. What's so sad when Charles H. Spurgeon once said, "A time will come when instead of shepherds feeding the sheep, the church will have clowns entertaining the goats." Aiden W. Tozer also warned that there will come a time that many will think that they can "accept Christ" without forsaking the world. Today messages like those would been considered as "adding works" to faith in Jesus Christ when that's not the case. If that's so then why did Jesus warn in John 15:18-19 that Christians are not of the world? If you're in Christ then how can you remain sinful as before and how can you still love worldliness and never change? That's nowhere in the Bible.

The entertainment driven church doesn't worship God at all. It's not honoring God at all. It sickens me to think how they claim to be born again Christians but their worship isn't born again Christian material. Instead of a pastor preaching against sin and the choir singing praises, why are we having a rock concert and no godly message? One of the most common objections to traditional church worship is that it's "boring" and "let's be modern". One can think that I oppose change and progress whenever I express my hate for entertainment driven churches. If you want to know when I oppose to change it's when it's change for the worse. I can accept that the church will use Microsoft Powerpoint to outline a sermon for notes taking during the worship service. What I can't accept is anything that goes against Christian values. A Christian church may go ahead and enjoy the fruits of scientific progress. But if it supports evils like pornography, abortion, booze and drugs to name a few then that's when change isn't acceptable. If any changes disrupts worship then don't accept it at all because not all change is for the better.

The whole problem of the entertainment drive church also includes this huge problem. It's a church that ignores preaching against sin and repentance. In these kinds of sinister churches, it's easier to hear the quack pastor preaching about having a good time, he extorts money from his pulpit by sweet words, swindles people with his "feel good" gospel and what's worse people love to have it so (Jeremiah 5:31). The prophets prophesy falsely and the priests bear rule by their means. Today, there are false prophets that prophesy falsely and pastors that are not the Jeremiah 3:15 pastors. The same truth is true today that people just love to have it so. In those churches, they are just feeling good and attending it as a social hall rather than as a worship hall. Since I desire true worship then I will hate false worship. Since Christians love God then they will hate sin not love it.

Many of them may profess to have received Christ but they're not Christians. How can they say they have received Christ and yet their lifestyles still remain the same? It's impossible because 1 Corinthians 6:11 and Titus 2:11-14 show that genuine salvation results to sanctification. Try sending any uncompromising preacher there and they're most likely to start calling him names like Pharisee, Jesuit plant or any insult and false accusation that they could imagine against the man of God. Let that preacher preach in that pulpit and give a shocking message to them. Let him say something like, "You think you are saved because in one moment in your life you prayed a prayer. You thought that prayer saved you. Many of you are living like devils. If there's anything that I'm furious about right now is that many churches today teach you can be saved and still live like the Devil. That's false conversion! If you're truly saved, you're going to love God and hate sin. Am I saying Christians will be perfect? No. But can they live in perpetual carnality? Absolutely not! The doctrine of fruitless Christianity has sent a lot of people to Hell today as much as the doctrine of works salvation." That pastor can only expect to be thrown away like Jeremiah was.

I should also mention that a lot of these entertainment driven preachers have a habitual life of sin. It pains me to think how these pastors aren't the pastors of Jeremiah 3:15. Instead, these pastors are shepherds that mislead the flock. I've seen such pastors who live in so much scandal and yet the world loves them. Let a man of God fall into sin and the world continues to berate him. Let the entertainment driven pastor continue in sin and the world still loves him. Worse, they're even preaching many false converts "into Heaven" when they weren't heading to Heaven but to Hell. The evidence of them being unsaved is their continued degenerate behavior. Nobody can be saved and remain the same. True converts don't want to live the same old sinful lives. Those who think that they have a license to sin are false converts.
