I Have This Confidence in the Bible That It Outlives All Its Enemies
I have my confidence in the Word of God. Many people tell me, "You're just reading a book of fables, go back to nursery! You're too old for fairy tales." Others say, "Man just wrote the Bible." but they have no problem with buying atheist writers as "truth". They can go ahead and say the Bible was written by drunkards but a lot of atheist writers are heavy drinkers, drug addicts and who's not thinking clearly now?
The confidence I have in the Bible is that history testifies to it. The facts and figures show the Bible is no mere book of fables. History has verified the Bible's claims and has not contradicted it. A lot of people who hated the Bible ended up fulfilling it. One good example is how Julian the Apostate ended up fulfilling Jeremiah 50:13-29 without realizing that he ended up fulfilling the very words that he sought to destroy. Others tried to stop the fulfillment of prophecies only to realize that God's word is 100% absolute and it never lies. Even today, people who hate God and His Son the Lord Jesus Christ are persecuting Christians to which they end up fulfilling prophecy in the process.

The Roman Catholic institution banned Bible reading and today many Roman Catholics have the nerve to say their church gave us the Bible. No matter how the persecutions went just so the Bible can't be read but more people still risked their lives so others can read the Bible. The true Christians took every risk to get it to be preached. The Roman Catholic institution while claiming itself to be the true church kept attacking but it didn't work. Even before the Reformation, various Christians dared to risk their necks just so the Word of God can be preached.
The wrong turn this world has taken hasn't taken me by surprise. When the Supreme Court of the United States declared a lot of sins legal, I expected it because the Bible already warned of what's going to happen in the last days. The Bible is showing a lot of powerful truth and people hate it. They still want to dismiss it as a book of fables yet they want to destroyed. It's because it contradicts the sinner. When I wasn't saved, I really hated to read the Bible but now I'm a Christian, I can't do without reading the Bible.
