Why I Believe Struggling Against Sin is a Fruit of Genuine Christianity

Image
There are many times that I doubt if I'm even saved. I can remember listening to some of Paul David Washer's sermons. As much as he was preaching against false conversions but he also emphasized the sad truth that Christians do still sin but aren't proud of it. Can Christians be carnal? Yes. But can a Christian be carnal indefinitely? Then that answer is a no. It's very easy to take Romans 7:14-25 but let's see what it really says: Romans 7:14-25  For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I wo

My Reflection on Proverbs 31 This Mother's Day

Today is Mother's Day and I remembered one sermon by Pastor Robert Kent P. Jesalva of World in Need Baptist Church called "Bathsheba: A Mother to Model". It's really something to consider how a sermon on Bathsheba as a mother to model could fit in. Whenever someone mentions Bathsheba, who can forget the scandal in 1 Samuel 11? It's easier to remember the scandal in 1 Samuel 11 than the restoration David had in 1 Samuel 12. This is what we could consider about Bathsheba. She and David sinned greatly yet the LORD restored them after they repented. After the child born out of adultery was dead we have another son who was named Solomon. Another of David's and Bathsheba's children was named Nathan (2 Samuel 5:14, 1 Chronicles 14:4, 2 Chronicles 9:29). After Solomon was born, David had other children with Bathsheba and he probably named one of them Nathan in honor of the prophet whom God used to bring him to repentance. It would be important to consider that

Why I Believe in the Trinity

Image
One of the biggest attacks on Christianity is not only questioning the divinity of Jesus Christ but also of the biblical truth about the Trinity. A critic against the doctrine of the Trinity can point out the following arguments. Here's some that I heard: The Trinity would mean that if God exists in three Persons then that's Tri-theism. The same person could point out that pagans do have a Trinity. Some of these pagan trinities exist are as follows: Greek/Roman mythology has Zeus/Jupiter, Hades/Pluto and Poseidon/Neptune. Hinduism has Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu working as the Hindu trinity. Taoism has the existent of the Three Pure Ones called the Lord of the Primordial Beginning, Lord of Virtue and Honored Lord of Virtue as the trinity of Chinese mythology. Since there is only one God then there is only God the Father. Jesus Christ is the Son of God but He is not God the Son. I can say such arguments are rooted in the following fallacies: Guilt by associati
