Giving a Piece of My Mind About Roman Catholics Who Make Fun of Baptism by Immersion

I've been reading arguments from Roman Catholics who make fun of born again Christian baptism stating it's "unbiblical". I'd like to give my thoughts on the matter on why born again Christians practice baptism by immersion.

The account of the baptism of Jesus and the ministry of John the Baptist shows the following truths (Matthew 3:13-17, Mark 1:9-11, Luke 3:21-23). First, John the Baptist performed baptisms at the RIVER JORDAN and he didn't baptize infants. Those who were baptized were repentant people Second, when Jesus was baptized, immersion was involved and He went straightway out of the water.

Let's talk about the Roman Catholic practice of infant baptism. Now I don't deny Martin Luther, John Calvin and John Knox also practiced infant baptism. Some Protestant Christian groups like the Presbyterians practice infant baptism without believing it cleanses the child from original sin. Instead, it's shown as a dedication for infants and the godparents are there to make sure the child receives Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. As a Baptist, I don't support infant baptism and I only support the believer's baptism.

I'd like to focus on the stupidity behind Roman Catholics making fun of the practice of baptism by immersion. What's even more stupid is that they also bother showing a painting of Jesus and John the Baptist but there's no baptism by immersion. All you see is an infant getting sprinkling in contrast to what the Bible recommends for baptism. Acts 8:38-39 from the Good News Bible says, "The official ordered the carriage to stop, and both Philip and the official went down into the water, and Philip baptized him. When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the LORD took Philip away. The official did not see him again, but continued on his way, full of joy."

The problem behind those Roman Catholics who are making fun of the BIBLICAL tradition of baptism by immersion is that they really don't see the truth. They're always trying to twist the Scriptures and taken them out of context to do what they want to do with it. It would be best to ask them these questions:
  • Was Jesus an adult or an infant when John the Baptist baptized him?
  • If you say baptism by immersion is unbiblical then how do you explain John the Baptist immersing Jesus into the River Jordan?
  • During the account of Philip and the Ethiopian, was the Ethiopian a baby or person who at least had understanding of the Gospel? If it was just sprinkling then why did both Philip and the Ethiopian go down into where there was much water?

Then again, I never expect a sensible answer from them either.
